The ARC (Assessing Residents’ CI-CARE) Medical Program at UCLA is a community of student volunteers, interns, staff, and those dedicated to improving overall patient satisfaction in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center & Medical Plaza and the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center & Orthopaedic Hospital.

The need for an inpatient and outpatient interview to evaluate the success of CI-CARE implementation and to increase the importance of physician communication and interaction with patients and their families has been determined. The goal of this patient interview is to provide highly reliable patient feedback about patients’ hospital experience to the management of the inpatient/outpatient care units and the program directors of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

The surveys we conduct will also help the School of Medicine meet the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) requirement and be a part of the resident physicians’ 360 degree evaluation.
